KOS keeps your projects, knowledge, decisions, and workflows as durable context in Markdown files, so you can use that context with supported AI tools instead of rebuilding it each session.

No. KOS files are ordinary Markdown. Obsidian is a compatible interface for reading and editing them if you want one. KOS is not an Obsidian product or partner, and your setup may still need other software listed in the release prerequisites.

No. You use KOS with AI tools you already have access to. Compatibility with a tool does not include a subscription to it.

Yes. The Starter Kit is the open-source distribution of KOS Community Edition.

Your KOS files live where you put them. When an AI tool reads them, that tool may send the content to its provider for processing, depending on the tool and your settings.

Not yet. You can join the waitlist and we will contact you when access opens. Joining does not sign you up for marketing email.

No. Core is the shared foundation every edition is built on. It is not an edition or a pricing tier.

Not automatically. Each Power-Up lists its own compatible editions, version, and rights.

Verified support is listed per release on the compatibility page. A tool marked "Not yet verified" may work but has not been confirmed for that release.

No. The name describes how KOS organizes knowledge. It works alongside the tools you already use.
